This is a tribute to our dad. Husband to Marie, and dad to, John, George, Carol, David, Margaret and Sharon.
He has 12 grandchildren, Donna, Craig, Rachel, Kerry, Stacey, Mark, Sean, Shareen, Stephen, Ben, Lyndsey and Lucy. Also, 4 great grand-children, Danielle, Baby Rudi(angel), Lewis, Mckenzie and Leo
Our Dad was a very proud man, and worked in various jobs, but his main job was a winder at Golborne Colliery. He had so many friends and a lot of them where associated with Clubland scene in Wigan and surrounding areas. He compared at many social clubs, and was a beautifull singer. At each of our weddings he has sung to us and the family, and everyone who knew our Dad, always had a good word to say about him. He loved a flutter on the horses or the dogs, but never really cared to bet on Football. Until one day, he tried his chance on an Accumilator, picking a certain amount of teams to win...and guess what....he did...just under a thousand pound, but he didn't keep it to himself, he shared it with all the family...that was what our Dad was like, generous, kind, thoughtfull, and willing to give something of his own up for someone else to enjoy...He was a treasure and we miss him dearly....
We sadly lost our dad on the 10th August 2003, to the dreadfull disease....cancer. The whole family cared for Dad in his last weeks at home. He was at peace at last, free from pain.
Our lives have not been the same since, our mum struggles every single day without him, and is thankfull she has her family around her always.
We love and miss you so much dad, that it really hurts, but we wanted to pay you this tribute, to let you know how proud we are to say we are George Reid's children..

I have a list of friends I know...
all written in a book,
And every now and then...
I go and take a look.
That is when I realize
these names...they are a part,
not of the book they're written in...
but taken from the heart.
For each Name stands for someone...
who has crossed my path sometime,
and in that meeting they have become...
the reason and the rhyme
Although it sounds fantastic...
for me to make this claim,
I really am composed...
of each remembered name.

of any special link,
just knowing you, has shaped my life...
more than you could think.
